New Camera

Posted in Balderdash and Nonsense at 6:51 pm by Jennifer

T2 by Sony. They came in other colors, but the green was so funky and weird I had to pick it.

I was getting ready to leave for taipei and I dropped the old camera on the floor. It made a funny sound and the batteries and sim card popped out. Ouch. I tried to turn it on but it wouldn’t. So I put it away. Then as I left the room, it dropped AGAIN and the batteries and sim card popped out again as well…Keep your cameras away from me. I don’t understand why am I so clumsy? Such bumbly butterfingers. Well, my mom yelled at me for a bit but I knew she secretly wanted a new camera anyways…I think. lol. 4 gb in the pretty thing and they gave us another 4 gb for free. Weee! AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES! The old one I murdered eats batteries like a Hummer eats gasoline. Lame analogy but you get teh point. VERY WASTEFUL and totally environmental UNFRIENDLY.

I <3 Green.

except when it comes to brussel sprouts.
nasty stuff.

I need glasses.

Posted in Balderdash and Nonsense at 8:27 am by Jennifer

I got my eyes checked @ Taipei @ Johnny’s parent’s place. I need to start wearing glasses regularly. Ugh. What can I say? I’m special, and so are my eyes. I don’t know what went wrong but they’re WEIRD. Taipei was really fun, hanged out with the Hendricksons, checked out the subway, night market, Tabernacle of David, and the office/headquarters sorta of Taipei lin leung church. Busy two days. I think you can read Johnny’s blog for details. I’m lazy. fu fu fu.

Taiwan up until now

Posted in Balderdash and Nonsense at 9:02 pm by Jennifer

Kaosiung is nice. My uncle took my mom to the hospital to meet up with her friend and get a physical. While she was there, Josephine got a mole inspected and they decided there was a possibility it could become malignant so they did a quick surgery and got it removed. I thought she was really brave because she didn’t cry and my mom didn’t go with her. Just her tiny self and a team of scrubbed up doctors and teeny peering eyes. My english…is dying…but on the other hand, my chinese is slighty improving. Improving…as in…I now speak chinese at third grade level. Hurrah…

Later that night, we went on the streets for the night carnival with my mother’s friend’s family and eat dinner. Had a good time except I couldn’t breathe the whole time I was there. My cousin got it better, he’s effin tall. Maybe there’s more oxygen up there where he’s at, or he’s used to it. Why didn’t I get any tall genes? Its not fair.

We left kaosiung and went to tainan to visit my grandparent’s. Here’s wehre the character training begins.

My grandparent’s live by themselves because they absolutely REFUSE to move in with anybody else. Very stubborn.  I think its an old person thing. Their health is deteriorating, especially my grandma’s. She has alzheimer and its getting bad. First off, it smells…really….weird. Like sewers weird? The bed smells musty and the bathroom is in need of remodeling. Second…I found a giant spider as big as my face in the bedroom. At least I can see it. It seems like my family has been targeted by the local mosquitoes and I woke up one morning with 9 bites on the right side of my body alone. But the things is, I can take mosquitoes. They bite, itch a bit…and it goes away. I have these 10 bumps on my legs that swelled up and won’t go away. They’re extremely itchy and I don’t know what kind of bug did it and its absolutely killing me and the rest of the crew. We probably taste different. “Tawainese” must get boring after awhile so why not give “American-ese” a try. Heh. Just don’t get complain when you get a heart attack.

Enough complaining. I just needed it out of my system. Whew. Oh yea. And no internet.

So the entire time I was in tainan I was feeling miserable. Not because of the state of my environment but because I know that just being here is improving my grandparent’s current condition. They’re more interactive, they move around more, they’re happier and all I want to do is leave. So I feel guilty for wanting to ditch them so I can feel more ‘comfortable’. The initial plan was to stay for a day and go back to kaosiung but we ended up staying two more days. I wouldn’t mind so much but I only had one change of clothes…and its taiwan…and we sweat a lot…and we smell. I think it all in my head. I just need to get over it. So I lay on bed and ask God to give me more love while viciously scratching my “welcome to taiwan” love bites from the friendly local vampires. Did it work? Lets just say this…my mom caught a couple of daggers that were shooting out of my eyes so…here I am…in kaosiung…with as fresh change of clothes…and internet.

However, they’re going back later today but I’m staying. My cousin is taking me up to Taipei to get my eyes checked by non other but Johnny Wang. Maybe I might bump into a few people up there…Meh. :scratch scratch: I know I shouldn’t…but I can’t seem to stop.

My sisters aren’t as opinionated as I am because they’re married to the ds. A three way relationship. Is that a sin? Anyways, they have the ds’s unconditinal love and attention so as long as its on, nothing else seems to matter. Haha. I’m exaggerating but not by much. I’m too lazy to got back up and check my grammar. You probably didn’t even read up til here. Or you did, but you skipped the middle. Thats fine. I’m done. So long.

Arrived

Posted in Balderdash and Nonsense at 11:03 pm by Jennifer

We have arrived in Kaoshiung all in one piece. Loved the train ride from the airport in Taipei to the city because the lush green scenery is just so soothing to the eyes. I was watching Horton Hears a Whoo on the plane but I didn’t get to finish. Bummer. I’ll finish on the way back then. Catching up a lot with my older cousin and excited to travel around. Whole family will probably go to Taipei for 5 days to hang out, chill, and bond. Thats all i have to say for now…upload pictures later…maybe.

Stupidest Day EVER!!!

Posted in Balderdash and Nonsense at 8:07 pm by Jennifer

Apparently, if you read my last post, things DON’T get better. (Did I jinx myself?) It actually got WORSE. For instance, something is wrong here, because shouldn’t i be on my flight, not blogging? HAHA. Here’s the funny and really stupid part, my flight was @ 12 AM NOT PM!!! Yes. I’d fall out of my seat too. Go ahead. Laugh. I already did…and tried to calm down my hysterical almost self-mutilating parents. I can’t believe this is happening either. I thought everyone knew what they were doing and I thought my family was literate. Apparently…not. So…we came back and going back to LAX at 9:00…PM!!! I was surprised I was so chill…I think it was because I was hyperventilating yesterday for absurd reasons and Annie prayed for me. Thanks Annie, it was a carry over prayer. Carried over from yesterday until today. Now…we’re on the ’stand-by’ list because the plane’s full. Pray that someone makes the same mistake that my family made and don’t show up….so we can take their seats…HA! joking…but not really joking. Oh, man. I’m never going to let my parents live this down. Should I feel bad? Should I feel slightly responsible? If I should, well, I don’t. Oh man. Stupidest day ever. But seriously…pray that we can get seats on this absolutely FULL plane. 5 seats. D: All things are possible with God…yes? Oh. And the plane isn’t JUST full, its 6 over maximum capacity. Woopy. I love you Jesus. (How about that for sucking up? jk)

P.S. Even though in the past, I took flights to taiwan at midnight, I actually took one in the middle of the day as well so I didn’t find it weird to fly in the afternoon. So yea…if anyone was wondering…

I’m going the sit in the corner of the house now…among the mountain of luggage and contemplate on how RIDICULOUSLY STUPID this situation is…

Is is possible to get high on stupid? Gosh. I think our family needs to go to rehab for this stuff.

PPS I wrote this post…and deleted it cuz i felt way too stupid…now i’ll post it up again because EVERYBODY KNOWS ANYWAYS. You guys communicate fast. -__-”
